A question for the regular long distance flyers if I may. I have a couple of long haul flights to undertake this year with differing airlines to differing destinations and a couple of them have changeovers of up to five or six hours. I was thinking that I would book lounge access in these cases but am unsure of my best option.

A Google search threw up Priority Pass and I'm thinking of the Standard access which is £55 for the year, then £24 per lounge visit which seems to be quite good. Do any of you frequent travellers have experience with that company or perhaps have any better suggestions please? Thanks in advance.

I fly most weeks and use Priority Pass as annual fee of c.£250 as I get my value in coffees / breakfast etc over the year. Most you also have to pay if bringing another along.

I fly Belfast / Dublin / London / Finland / Sweden / Denmark regularly (not long haul).

I looked at this last year because was going to have a long layover in New Delhi (6 hours) - but it specifically stated max 2 hours in the lounge

Most lounges have a 3 hour limit, meaning you can’t enter until 3 hours before the scheduled departure. If the flight is delayed I’ve never had a problem staying in the lounge.

My Pass is included with my bank account so worth checking.

Thanks Barry, I think for £55 it might well be worth it for the several flights I have to do this year. Well spotted Jonny, upon closer inspection I see that the max time in the lounge varies from airport to airport. Thank you too Jeff, unfortunately my bank account has no such inclusions.

Thank you gents. :thumb2

When we flew BA business class I didn't see any signs bout a time limit, we had 4 hours in Toronto due to delays.

Funny story, first time we flew business class with BA fro Inverness, my wife made some sandwiches to take with us...unbeknown to me...we arrived at Inverness was sent to the lounge and offered a full english breakfast....wife says no, we've brought sandwiches... I could stop myself laughing !! the look on the attendants face was priceless.

I’m sure the Wetherspoons is better value

If I were in an airport for more than a couple of hours, I'd shell out for a lounge.

But I've never seen a time limit and, if there was one, I don't know how they are enforced as I've always just walked out of a lounge unchecked.
