their should be a smilie of someone with their boot in their mouth for moments like this, I'll have to make do with:doh
aaaaa....sh*t, who would have thought anyone on this forum would have gone for that colour:o......aaaaaa if I said I was in two minds about the sand version, thinking about buying that one, and just testing reactions to see what the jury felt, would that help ease the pain of being inadvertently outed??:o NO NO Only joking!

ta for the thread lead tho', looks like its worth going ahead and at least seeing if I can get sizes that fit average size people, rather than the long limbed ubermen that HG build their kit for....:blast wonder who I have insulted now, is that everyone covered yet?:augie

Not insulted at all M8..bit of fun. Having gone abroad on the bike in the sunny weather it is surprising how much hotter I felt in a black suit. Not sure if the comments of Black absorbing the heat applies to textiles but the lighter colour suit is defiantly cooler....each to their own though.

hi m8, that is a good point regarding affect of heat and colour of clothing...and I do suffer when temp hits +25 and higher....as on european jaunt earlier in june when we enjoyed 36 degrees on several days, after a monsoon on the way down!!

will I be able to overcome my opion of the sand version when I see it "in the flesh"....watch this space:thumb

Looked at the kit recently myself and was very impressed with the quality versus the price. As for the colour I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the sand colour particularly the jacket (could be combined with the darker trousers?).

I reckon the sand colour is the best option if you are going to use it anywhere where the sun might shine. Obviously this may need to be offset against more frequent cleaning.

These people were very helpful when I was looking:

My local J&S Accesories stock the suit now so the rest of their chain should. That at leased gives you a chance to look up close. oh they do a short leg version of the trousers as well.

amazing, I contacted lloydlifestyle, so called importers to find out if any shops locally stocked the stuff so i could go look and try......eventually they came up with 2 shops, when i called them they said "oh we can order it for you but do not keep it in stock"...and " we have some odd bits and pieces around the place, we may be placing an order in next few days or so":blast

no mention of J&S, who list it on their website and have a store not far away!!

great sales promotion then, not:spitfire

will ring J&S and see what they have there now

thanks again m8

had the jacket a month or so now and really impressed with it, waterproof when it rains (it has a bit) and very cool in hot weather with the vents open and lining out. I have done a couple of 300/400 mile trips and is been top notch. The size came up good as well, got mine from JandS so try them. Highly recommended.

got the trousers , ill tell you how they are , in a few week and 4000 miles on them

Bought the pants a few months back as an alternative to my HG's. They are a bit tighter round the boot area than most but I can just get them done up, did a 300 mile trip and found the knee protection very uncomfortable after a bit, did some 'adjustments' when I got back and they are now comfy. They look pretty good too and are good value. I noticed in one of the bike shops at the weekend that Spada have also brought out a similar suit, it also looked the dogs bollocks. :thumb

I notice that the jacket comes with shoulder & elbow armour, but there is no reference to a back protector. Is there a back protector or provision to fit one?

There is provision for a back protector although a PITA to get it in the pocket on the jacket. its not a huge one but I think the smallest of the three standard ones Knox make and offers protection to the main central area of the spine etc.

just tried jacket and trews at J&S, altho they did nt have sizes and colour combo I asked them about on phone before travelling:blast

spent a bit of time going over the kit, only questionmark for me is the internal linings look a bit thin, just wonder how durable they will prove to be!
also the liners thermal and waterproof, forgot to ask at the time but I hope that the jacket will allow use of waterproof liner without thermal liner???

overtall liked the look altho why they need such big logos on the back I'll never know!
intobikes website has them at £59.99 trews and 119.99 jacket, cheaper than J&S and Littlewoods (yes I know I was gobsmacked too)

akito desert jacket and pants, pants or not

just returned from 1600 miles around ireland. Great suit in dry weather but not waterproof at all even with lining fitted. Yes you can use waterproof lining without thermal lining.

:thumb2Try typing in nightingale motorcycles into Google. They've got the jacket for £109.99 and the pants for £58.75 ! AND free postage.:D

I tried both on at the weekend, I like the jacket, but I also thought the pants were a bit tight around the knees.

What is memory foam, and how do you apply/use it?

oh!:blast just ordered a suit....in anthracite, as altho' the sand version is better looking in "the flesh" than its slightly:ymca photograph, keeping it clean would be a real PITA....

if its not waterproof, back it goes!!!
