they obviously sound nice but what are they like to live with (motorways, sleepy villages etc)?. I had an Arrow and found it a bit much at times. Must be getting old

I've got an Akra on my LCRT. I love it. It adds just enough "oomph" to the exhaust note to make the bike sound interesting, without making your ears hurt.

This week I've been on a loaner without the Akra; sounds like a car...

I had the akra and on its own it's ok, coupled with the headers it used to do my head in and I wear ear plugs as well, I used to get off my bike after a day blating across France and feel fooked and a
had a buzzing in my ears.

Obviously it's bigger then stock, there's no gain on its own and Deffo not value for money at £700 but it's like being in a sweet shop and I want everything, if you can afford it buy one and come trade in time take the can off and sell it you'll get 70-80% return .

I have an Akro on my GS LC with both baffles in it is hardly any noisier than standard but with the lower baffle removed it is quite a bit noiser and at home I love it with all the extra noise it creates but I must admit on our recent trip to France it did get on my nerves a couple of times (with ear plugs). Next trip, not sure???:nenau:confused::eek:

Sounds like a Lancaster bomber going down the motorway, can get rather irritating .

Mine came with the Akra already fitted and I thought it was noisey at first. I even contemplated refitting the stock can but after a week and 800 miles I no longer noticed the 'extra' noise over stock :thumb2

I was more thinking Messchersmitt myself

Strangely, a KTM with Akras with baffles out didn't really bother me, but the beemer with Arrow can and baffles did

Yeah, but you do wear a hearing aid when you're not on the bike!:aidan

I wear two hearing aids when not on the bike :rob

I also used to work with Metallica and Guns n Roses so I'm no stranger to loud noises ;)

My Akra system sounds quite quiet to me :beerjug:

Yes the pipe is noisy , but if your doing local runs ie at weekends you'll get used to it , now I did put my standard can back on ( along with the Remus headers ) when I went on my euro trip , much better as did it before with the Akro on and it did start to do my head in. My bike is remapped so there's no problem switching pipes .
