Just had a new engine fitted and an treated myself to an Akrapovic can at the same time.
Always a little "curious" about things, I'd like to try it without the DB killers. Is it just a matter of grinding off the welds that hold the two Allen head screws in to remove them ?
Is there an "easy" way to do it.
any views and opinions gratefully received,
Cheers

Surely it must be just a case of unscrewing the bolt that's holding it in place....has been the case for every akropovic I've ever had, and I've had quite a few.

Looks like little tack welds holding them in place !

AFAIK all new Akra's are as Spud says, no more bolts and a wee blob of weld.
The Db killer can be removed Spud but you need to break/cut the welds and then modify with a bolt.

On my HP Akrapovic I fitted last month, the bolts have a small tack weld holding them. I just used a good fitting Alan key and undid them as usual. The weld lets go with very little effort. :thumb

Thanks Tim, that's how mine look, I'll give it a go 👍

Same as

I just removed one of them so it doesn't get too loud. Even use it like that for touring and the missus doesn't complain!
