If anyone thinks chasing, say, +10hp on a GS is important or valuable enough to justify the cost… I’d suggest you have the wrong bike in the first place.
Having more power is always going to be nice. There is nothing wrong in having more power. But I just don’t think the expense, expense of warranty or hassle of mitigating detection by ADs, is worth it… on the GS that is. It is a torquey adv bike that excels running at 3-7/10ths, not at 10/10ths when the extra hp really kicks in. Any additional low down torque is handy, but the bike already puts out over 100lbsft with short gearing, and there are very very very few situations where the bike is found wanting for more torque down low.
What the GS needs is a 7th gear! Of course, I’m not going to complain getting the R13 with more horses either, but it isn’t the USP.
