Akrapovich HP Baffle removal

Took mine out, rode it for a while, put them back in, rode it some more, now I'm thinking of taking them out again.

They are not really baffles in the true sense - just restrict the size of the outlets a bit. Certainly not too noisy with them out ;)

The dealer told me that mine were still in place and told me how to remove them, but when I looked into the can I could see all the way inside it so assumed that the baffles were not fitted. The bike also sounds quite fruity (delivery of the Akrapovic was delayed so spent up to the first service riding on the standard can, therefore had a reference), so was meaning to speak to the dealer about the whereabouts of my baffles - but after reading the previous posts I'm now thinking that mine might actually be still in place?! Although, I have to agree with Paul S and Bigtrucknuts... they aren't really baffles! Guess I'm going to have to remove them and find out what it sounds like? I don't want it too loud though!

Why would you want to the demo I took out was fitted with an Akra sports pipe and IT WAS FAR TOO BLOODY LOUD !

Akrapovic don't call them baffles, they are "Noise Inserts" :-)

I much prefer the other name for them - dB Killers !

So by taking them out you have saved the lives of lots of little dBs which would have otherwise met their end :D

Not wanting to really insult but some of you guys really lack mechanical knowledge at a very basic level. I now understand why so many on this site have problems with changing gears . Understanding the restrictors and how to remove is not rocket science and should have been discovered by anyone that is a competent handler of motorcycles. They are easy to put in or pull out and as such observe noise levels. Mine have never been in except for the ride home !
