Hi folks, I'm looking to do away with the catalytic converter and flappy valve on my 2016 r1200gslc, if I fit the akraprovic headers what do Ineed to do with the cables that control the flappy valve? does the bike show a fault warning light if it detects the missing servo?

I just diconected the cables fron the exhaust and the servo , put them in a box and hey presto. You keep the servo box on the bike and no need for a plug in. The unit still sets itself as it would normally do and may save you a few £

I have done this on two GSs now and no problem, even had the dealer move the full system to the new bike, he just unplugged my old sealed up servo and moved it to the new bike to save any aggro.

Many thanks for the replies, sorry if I appear a bit thick, when you say "put them in a box" do you mean completely remove cables from the bike?

Just read the installation instructions in the link below and all will become clear, and also you do not have to remap the engine the ECU will learn itself over a few tanks of fuel.

thanks Stick and Smogbob. crystal clear. most grateful for your help. :thumby:

Your welcome, just be a tad careful putting the O2 sensors back in their holes unplug them completely from their sockets to before removing your old exhaust and to install in the headers, , this way wires will not get twisted or broken, little flat head screwdriver lifts the tab on the connectors and then just pull out of connector, hope that makes some sense, read post 281 from link below to see the connectors and their removal.
