So you can control the alarm without having to put key in ignition. You can turn it on and off remotely with the fob.

Having an auto-arming alarm is a right pain in the butt and even worse where the only way to kill the sound is to turn ignition on. Its a right pain when you get off the bike, kill engine, remove key and you are fannying around in top box or removing GPS and you end up setting the alarm off. Having it going off in an underground car park is ear-splitting and not funny. Also when you are parked in a tight space in London it can be difficult to get from top box to cockpit. With the fob you are in control, can do all the fannying around as needed, then set the alarm with the fob as walking away.

Called in at Rainbow this morning to ask about the fob supply/programming to my 2013 LC both the service and parts managers have not heard of this being doable. They want to speak to Motorrad before ordering etc.

Tell them to spk with Service Dept at Vines Guildford. They have done a few and I am booked in next week.

Forgive my alarming ignorance, but how does the BMW quickshifter operate ? (I am very old, you see, and all this new technology confuses me easily :)).

my remote decoded itself today! any chance to code it back myself?

found manual for k1600gt online. Fob needs to be synchronised every time you swap battery or you press any of fob button more than 256 times outside of alarm radio receiver.

to sync it back:
turn engine on
press both buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds until led flashing stops
release buttons, solid red led goes on
press any button. fob is now in sync.

I'm being told by my Spanish BMW dealer that it's not possible to use the K1600 alarm fob with the GSA, have those that have these remotes had any issues with them and were any mods carried out to your bikes at all.

I'm just trying to get all the possible question answered before going back to the dealer.

Thanks

I have a early 2014 GS LC.
I have an alarm fob, the bike had to be coded to accept it.
Works well, but I can not get any beeps as it sets, disarms or set to ferry mode.
I have it set to on with the options set in the RDC.
However I am very pleased with this addition as I can set it to ferry mode as I wheel the bike out of my garage, no longer do I have to have the ignition on as I wheel the bike out.
Well worth it.

I have a 2015 GSA, got two fobs with it, no problems at all.
Mine beeps on arming and disarming, I think it's set in the dash options.

I also have the fob for mine and would like it to beeb on arming but dont know how to do it any can body tell me how to do ,thanks ,,bob

I have asked SBW guys for this and they will order fob for me, but they said that they have not done it before but they will try... I'm not sure about 30£ though... was it special treatment?

So Tecman did SBW manage this for you as I've asked them and the new parts guy has no answer as yet. I know it's a small thing but its a pain.
