Alarm Removal

I have searched and read the posts on DIY fitting the BM alarm to the 1200, looks like an easy job to fit but you need the dealer to program it etc.

Anyone know about removal? Can it just be unplugged or do you have to get the dealer to connect the computer again?

Reason is I have a 1200gs but might be getting a gsa which has no alarm, if its an easy job I might swap it over before i sell the gs......

Nope the dealer has to tell the canbus system that the alarm is no longer there.
If the dealer is taking your bike in pt/ex get them to do the swap, it only takes about 20 mins

Its not going to a dealer so I may be better off leaving it on the bike.

Ask Marje Proops about removing a fitted alarm from a BMW.....he knows all about the results of trying to do so
