A few pics from my alaska trip a few months ago. The trip was 22 days and covered 12,000km. I started the trip from Vancouver British Columbia, and travelled as far as Inuvik, north west territories.

I think it took 10-12 hours to reach the border of the northwest territories and the yukon. Around 4 hours to inuvik

the Dempster highway was the highlight of my northern trip. Anyone planning a trip to alaska will miss out if they dont do the Dempster in the Yukon/Northwest territories. Its an adventure ride, 750km of gravel, mud, rain, and possible snow going over the pass. Usually the trip up the dempster is a two day trip. I opted to do it in one day and it took 16hrs.

thanks!

mate, it's funny, alaska has been on my mind over the last few days...and then i see this! superb photos of a trip i will one day do. thanks.

Fantastic .............thanks for posting :thumb

3mths touring the West of the US in '04 got me only as far North as Vancouver but the guy I sold my GS to bought it to do an Alaskan trip. He made me wish that I could've have kept the bike and carried on riding myself.:(

Awesome pictures. What camera are you using by the way? Looks like a fantastic trip to do.

thanks for the comments. I could of wrote more, but I think the pictures say it all. Im not much of a writer. The camera was on olympus, not sure what kind though. Just a regular point and shoot.

As for 16hrs in the saddle, It was not problem. I could of done 24hrs. When its daylight 24hrs the sun keeps you awake. Lots of standing on pegs to relieve butt......

I took around 500 pictures and also vidio taped the whole trip. Unfortunately im to busy to organize the vids and pictures. Maybee this winter

Incredible pictures Dude - yet more great inspiration for getting out there!

Thanks for sharing :thumb2
