These are similar to the Mountain Warehouse Isocool jobs often touted on these pages. Man made fibre, wick sweat and will dry overnight if rinsed out in a hotel sink/shower. Plain colours, black or green. Take 3 on a trip and it is all you need. I wear one in the evening and then on the bike the following day. Rinse in the shower and wear a clean one in the evening. Rinse and repeat. The third one is a spare just in case one has a dinner time spillage.

Wessie, I’m amazed at how many t-shirts & pants people take. One chap I know buys cheapo stuff and throws away as the time goes on his trip. A wash with whatever is in the hotel/B&B shower is so easy and is, as you say, dry next day. Good find.

I take enough for a change of socks, pants & riding shirt every day.....It going to be interesting when I go to spain for 2 weeks in September......thats a bit too much to carry..... I am hoping for a laudrette along the way same as they have in the US Hotels
I must say I have found these from Sports Direct to be good but this Aldi deal looks amazing....

the problem with that HJ shirt is that it is cotton so takes an age to dry compared to these sports tops made from polyester that drip dry.

I rinse out a shirt every evening in the en suite sink whether stopping one or more nights as it is dry by morning. I do a batch of pants and socks if staying more than one night as they take longer to dry out unless you have a very sunny balcony. 3 shirts for the trip plus 7 pairs socks/pants suffice for any length trip.

Yes, there are launderettes in Spain. Just put lavandería into google maps. Unlikely to find them in a hotel.

Launderettes are part of the cultural experience. I’m on the look out for my next one tomorrow in northern Macedonia 🤣

Two and a half week tour of Andalucia, Catalunya and the picos last year in May. Three Klim Teton tshirts rotated every day. 1 long sleeve Klim Teton t shirt. 1 Klim wind jacket (worn only in picos twice). Two pairs of shorts for the evenings. 3 All Birds merino t shirts for the evenings on rotation. 1 pair of light linen trousers for smarter evenings. x5 All Birds merino pants; wash and dry overnight. Pair of thin leather loafers for the evenings. Shame All Birds have gone tits up.

Given that merino pants will dry overnight after washing in the sink, why do you need five pairs? Two is actually enough - but I usually take a third pair just in case.

Seven tops is also more than I take for two months!

I’ve got some Rohan wicking t shirts and undies I bought when on sale . Dry easily overnight .
Tend to wear Kühl long or short sleeve shirts off the bike as they are VERY light, UPF factor 50 and look smart yet dry as quick as anything when washed.
These socks off Amazon are very comfy and dry much quicker than regular socks .

In case there’s stubborn skidders and I like to keep my options open! 😀

Just bought one. Made in Cambodia, quite lightweight material which is ideal for hot weather. 95% polyester, 5% elastane but not too clingy.

Sizing is generous as JB says above, so an XL is a fairly loose fit on me which I prefer.

I have a few army coolmax t-shirts... bought second hand off eBay... just checked though... you can buy new ones, 3 for £12... what's not to like ?

Wessie,
Many thanks for letting us know abut this Aldi special purchase. I called into the Welshpool store this afternoon and purchased two followed by a couple of pints of Oakham Ales Citra at The Old Bakehouse. Great place for a hydration break during the hot weather.

that's my "local" but the Citra is not to my taste. I drink the Station Bitter from Oswestry's Stonehouse Brewery, which Paul always has on as it is his best seller. He rotates the other pumps but I will always go for a traditional brown bitter/amber ale.

When I was in Aldi this morning, I fancied some beer and for the first time tried their own brand English Pale Ale (not an iPA). Just opened a can after doing a couple of chores in the shaded part of the garden. It is remarkably good and no hint of being over hopped. Made by Marstons.

Aldi and Lidl products in general I think are underrated. To many supermarket snobs who won’t go near them. I think they are one of the most powerful grocery retailers in Europe. Not quite up there with mega giants like Walmart in the Us though. Clever them Krauts…
We have to deal with their “ buyers” in our business and they are quite ruthless… big buying power

And merino will take a couple of days use before it gets noticeably whiffy. Pants and socks.

Just bought a couple- off to Europe on Friday. Can’t fault them at the price. Thanks for the heads up.
