I think this is the best place to post this.
The Rhyl Lifeboat Station in North Wales is holding their Open Day on August Bank Holiday Sunday - the station is situated on the promenade between the outdoor Arena and the Pavilion Theatre (LL18 3YP).
The aim of the day is promote the 'Lifeboats' and public's awareness of the RNLI (the charity that saves lives at sea).
So if you fancy having a look round a working lifeboat station (buisiest in Wales for the last 5 years) and associated lifeboats - a Mersey Class All Weather Lifeboat & a D-Class inshore Lifeboat - please call in & introduce yourself (I'm the Operations Manager)
We have the Red Devils Parachute Display Team 'dropping in' at approx 13.15 hrs and an air display by our local WWII Spitfire at around 15.15hrs - the North Wales Police helicopter will also be landing sometime in the afternoon. The static displays include:
Owl Sanctuary
Local History Club
Model Aircraft Club (also giving flying displays throughout the day)
Coastguard
Global Rescue Services
Lifeboat Models
Cafe Area
Fun Fair
Stormy Stan
Also on the same day Denbighshire County Council are holding their 'Fun in the Sun' day in the Arena (approx 150m along the promenade) - link to details on their event http://www.denbighshire.gov.uk/en-gb/WODNAP-7RYLVW
(All timings are subject to change due to weather and operational circumstances)
