sorry chaps - but i'm having lodsa trouble coming to a conclusion.

would like to stick with the bmw gear if at all possible as it does seem very well manufactured.

like a couple of other threads, it would be nice to have something more 'wow' than plain old black, hence the original thoughts of the rallye2 or savanna systems.

since then, it appears that the goretex layer is 'within' the suit hance the suits absorb water to varying degrees in the outer layers.

has anybody got any experience with the new goretex ? laminate suits that bmw are producing that are apparently thinner, less bulky, are impervious to water at the point of contact.

like several others, the thought of one suit for all year round use appeals, and one that looks smart for the working day is even more appealing.

cash waiting - decision pending (very slowly) !! HELP !!!!!!!!!!:wave

got a street guard - does exactly what it says on the tin
unfortunately its black :D

Have used new Tourguard jacket and Streetguard trousers over the last week, 300m trips mostly heavy rain and gear has been great!:P

I've had a Streetguard Jacket & trousers for about 6 months. Well chuffed with them & IMHO look smart to :o One minor niggle is could do with another pocket or two but at least the ones you do get are waterproof! Also nice never having to remember to take ya waterproofs with you & you never have to stop to put them on when it starts raining! - quite a boon recently with the short sharp showers then sun again 15 mins later. You can get a bit of discount if you know what size you need & have the patience to shop around a bit & wait for the right opertunity ie sales. I bought my jacket & trousers from two different places for this reason. One word of warning - the jacket & trousers have to be the same size if you want to use the the joining zip (apparently there are a few exceptions) - the zips vary in length according to the size. I would say its slightly to warm for the really, really hot weather, even with the jacket lining removed, but overall Im glad I bought the kit.

Jackets

I have the Tourguard for non summer use and its the best jacket that I have ever used. Like Henry Fords cars it is black. For dry use I have the Rally jacket. Also a comfortable jacket with oooodles of armour. But I took out the goretex lining last week to cool down and got caught out in a thunder shower..... I was wet through in 10 seconds. Both great bits of kit.

streetguard suit

been quoted £660 for the streetguard suit (jacket & trousers) from the local dealer ? is this any good, can anybody get it cheaper elsewhere ?

Hi
I have a Streetguard BMW textile all weather jacket for sale size 50 Almost new as I continue to use a very heavy but loved Dainese Extreme.

You can see it on Ebay for a few more days.
I've worn it three time in summer and four in the pouring rain.
The removable thermal liner (zipped in) is perfect for winter and the jacket performs very well.
I just don't need 3 of them!

you can't email until I sponsor...sorry.

:beerjug:

Have a Tourguard jacket, great piece of kit, 100% waterproof so far.

Reduced to £275 because it was in the unpopular colour of Blue

Hein Gericke Master IV - faultless in some really bad weather conditions over the last 12 months - so good several of my friends have now purchased them and are in total agreement.:thumb

Anyone got a view on the Aerostitch stuff. I've just bought a Darien jacket from SteveGS and it seems brill although not tested it yet.

Thing is you can easily spend £500 - £600 on BMW or rukka stuff but the aerostitch roadcrafter suit is only £450 or £500. DOes anyone have one adn could give me some feedback. I'm looking for a suit with armour (that I could fit HG stuff to) that is quick and easy to to get on and off without removing boots but is still totally waterproof.

Am I asking too much?
