Been looking for something better for the Hindge's for the Factory Alloy Panniers.
Their ones are made of Plastic.. and all it need's is the slightest knock to break them. Ok when the lid is closed..
But if you have your hands full and let the lid go too quickly..
Then U hear the crack!! and bang goes another hindge..
Oh! Why didn't they make them outta brass??

Seem's the quality in manufacturing is slipping.. Even the paint seem's to be wearing through.. and only after 4k too.
Always thought BM's legacy was built on quality, or is shareholder's pulling the purse strings again?

Must be getting old.... or something...lol

Yes sir! they all do that. I guess Bavarian quality just isn't up to Nippon standards these days. Love the bike, hate the poor quality finish and don't-care-less dealer attitude (except of course CW's):beerjug:

Got my corroding bmw boxes replaced under warranty and promptly sold them. Vern's are coming my way very soon!:)

thats one aspect of the 1200 i definatley like, the luggage system..... I thought the expansion mechanism is superb!:thumb

They're still not top loaders though... bloomin fiddly, prop with your knee, pants fall on the floor, flippin side openers!:( Give me Verns any day!
