This is a non-GS question (my 100GS has cross-spoked wheels).
I took the front wheel off my 2003 K1200GT last night and gave it a wash before dropping it off for a new tyre. it has a 17" three-spoke alloy wheel with twin discs and ABS disc.
I noticed a slight 'splay' at the rim - around 2mm splay over a 5cm distance.
I seem to recall hitting a monster pot hole in the dark one night, so I guess that's what caused it.
Question: Can the rim be pressed back or do I . .
1). Live with it (the Dealer thinks its a 'normal' amount of damage).
2). Buy a new wheel (Ouch).
Anyone had experience of straightening a rim ?
Thanks.
Bob.
