I got some of these as a pressie and, whilst they are very comfortable the right one constantly slips out of my ear canal.

But i was wondering what the SNR was and, since its not mentioned on the packaging (I though it was a requirement, but hey-ho) contacted them in Holland.

They seemed a bit vague, but eventually I'm told the green filter has an SNR of 17 and the yello SNR of 20 - is this adequate for motorycle use?

I thought SNR of 20-24 was recommended?

I've been using them for years, and they are quite good - I don't know how good, but my hearing is not better nor worse than it used to be.

And yes Alpine as a company is something else, they quoted me around 1000€ for in ear monitors.....

I've been using them for about 6 months. With the yellow!
They seem good, but like you the problem is the right ear, keeps falling out.
When they are in correctly I think they are great. This usually coincides with the times when I can't get them back out!!!:augie
More than once I've had to enlist help from someone with tweezers.:blast

my exact experience of them too,

worked a treat but the left one didn't fit as well and kept falling out or needed removing with tweezers when the attenuator came out in my fingers.

someone poking tweezers down my ear didn't appeal so I don't use them now and I'm experimenting with custom plugs

You are exposed to noise levels of between 80 - 120 dB depending on your speed, helmet, bike etc. With daily exposures likely exceeding 90dB which is above the level that an employer would be required to provide protection.

The higher the level of attenuation offered by the protection*, the longer the level of exposure before noise induced hearing loss is likely to occur.

* This does of course assume the ear protection is being worn correctly to achieve its maximum level of performance. An ill-fitting ear protection product will not offer its attenuation value.

A plug falling out of the ear is a big clue as to how well it is fitting ;)

Not sure why Apline were vague on attenuation information because the attenuation is shown on the packaging, the higher rated yellow filter has an SNR of 20.78. :nenau

Hmm, maybe different packaging exists, mine has no SNR and I called the supplier and he couldn't find it on his stock either.

There's no SNR explicitly displayed but there is this...

I did simplify my given SNR as its not exactly a straight MEAN average of the average attenuation values but the SNR is approximately what I gave.
