Description is as follows;

The Calama Drystar Jacket is a robust and durable jacket that when matched with the Valparaiso Pants make for a formidable all-weather riding experience.

Benefits of the Calama include a waterproof and breathable DRYSTAR membrane, superb comfort levels courtesy of the Jet Ventilation System (JVS) air intakes and the jackets ergonomic, class-leading CE certified shoulder and elbow protection. Delve even deeper and you'll find a 'multi-material' main shell construction with abrasion and tear-resistant panels for greater durability. Inside this outer shell is a full length, removable and interchangeable waterproof and breathable DRYSTAR liner with taped seams is guaranteed to keep you dry and a long sleeve thermal liner to keep you warm. The thermal liner is ‘sonic quilted’ to offer improved insulation performance whilst at the same time helping to reduce the jackets 'bulk'.

For times when the going is dry and warm Alpinestars have also fitted the jacket with their 'Jet Ventilation System or JVS', these large zippered air intakes offer vastly improved cooling performance and just in-case that's not enough a unique multi-layer sleeve construction, allows rider to remove outer shell sleeve but keep in place a reinforced mesh lining incorporating elbow and shoulder protectors for imprvoed protection during hot weather riding and the mesh lining with protectors can also be removed.

To improve fit and feel the 'Calama' has an anatomical, pre-curved sleeve design, with incorporated volume control adjustment straps for a greater custom fit. Additionally accordion stretch inserts in strategic areas improve rider mobility on and off the bike. A 'drop tail' on the rear of the jacket and waist adjustment belt further improve rider comfort.

Impact protection comes in the form of removable CE-certified Bio-Armor in the shoulder and elbow areas, whilst chest and back pad compartments come fitted with PE padding, which can be upgraded with Alpinestars 'bionic chest pads and back armor' (available separately). Meanwhile increased reflective detailing and logos ensure your more visible to other road users.

Storage is also important and the Calama is kitted out with highly water resistant zip pockets on the chest and one internal waterproof wallet pocket, further storage comes from the two front cargo style pockets and large rear utility pocket.
