Has anyone in Ireland any experience of wearing it - good or bad? Is it as 'waterproof' as Gore-Tex??

I am currently wearing a Dainese Gore-Tex jacket which is fine and Dainese D-dry trousers for nearly 2 years and I have to say, for a €250 pair of bike trousers, They are pretty shit to be honest and have leaked like a sieve since new.

I'll have a budget of about €400 to spend on a new jacket and trousers in the near future and am looking for decent quality waterproof gear. I ride in all weather (other than ice and snow) all year round and do about 6-7K miles a year so the likes of the Lidl, Aldi and RST crap is a no no.

Cheers

Might be worth a run up to Hein Gericke!
I bought a full suit there in August 2009 and have done between 7-10k miles a year since, they have never let in even a drop of water:clap

I bought mine in HG in Belgium and prices were significantly cheaper than HG in Uk at the time. I honestly can't remember how much the suit was, but I guess less than €500.
The trousers are Shannon gtx, coming up at £129 now, the jacket is the matching one in the pic but I can't find a price for it.

Couldn't rate the suit highly enough:clap

Gortex gortex gortex that's my experience forget sheltex duratex any tex JJH

aldi/lidl sailing salopettes are great as biking trousers. Double skinned with a bib and braces. €30/40 when available. As waterproof as anything else at 10x the price.
