Has anyone had any experience with an Alpinestars T-venom mesh jacket ?

What do you think of 'em ? They appear less flimsy than most others on offer here in Oz, and look like they'd vent better than the overpriced MBW airflow jacket. Does the mesh melt into one's skin if one slides along the road ? How about the armour ; does it stay in place ? Is the liner actually waterproof, and does it breathe or is it simply nylon ? Does the edge of the collar rival the guillotine ?

Suggestions for other mesh jackets welcomed !

MESH JACKETS

I only have experience of the BMW Airflow jacket which i bought in Perth in a sale. The jacket has been great in anything over 25 degrees. I wore it to ride around Oz with just a T-shirt underneath it was comfortable in 45 degrees and certainly keeps you cool. The back protection is extra so I used the KNOX armour from another jacket fixed in with velcro. the shoulder and elbow armour seemed substantial enough. When the temperature dropped below about 18 degrees I wore a fleece underneath it as I was gettin' a bit chilly.
Think it's a good jacket and still use it here in the UK when it's over 25 degrees which will probably be one day in August!
