bought a pair of these at the beguinning of the year for green laning on the gs and used them about 3 times and found them to be really comfortbale boots, really stiff but comfortable,

now, im looking at getting a nee set of boots for the winter as my sidi couriers are starting to give up the ghosts and i have found that they are not waterproof and leak after about 10 mins of slight rain,

would i be ok to start to wear them instead of the couriers over the winter?

what are they like as in waterproofing and warmth and ease of use?

will be using them everyday and would save me a load money over buying a new pair

only reaosn i ask is i havnt got around to trying them out and wondered if anyone else used them and what i can expect!

cheers in advance!

I have a couple of pairs of Tech 3 boots with the All Terrain Sole:

Tech 3 boots are also available with a regular sole:

I really like them - as you say, they are robust and comfortable. But neither style are in the slightest waterproof!!

Buy some Seal Skinz!

I have a pair of Tech3 with the all terrain sole, It took a while to break them in and they leak, but as a general do everything boot Tech3's are fine. It will take more than wearing them 3 times to break them in.

I wear mine every day to commute & I reckon it was a godd 4 months to properly sort them.
Flexible silcone sealant over the stitching helps to keep some water out, but I still wear my goretex inner boots in wet weather..

I've a pair for about 2 years now.
Very comfortable and not too bad to walk in either.
After not a lot of wear the sole comes away around the crease at the ball of your foot. Easliy repaired with some of that magic Tech7 sealant.

The bigger problem is the clasps/buckles need a good hard bang to get closed (with a shoe or a hammer!) which is a pain in the ar$e and very slow but at least they stay closed.

I've been using the Tech 3 boots since march and have done me well, they will withstand light rain for about 30 mins, but anything longer / harder (no jokes please :augie) they start to leak.

I would agree they take ages to break in, for me they still aren't felixbile enough, I have to lift my foot up off of the peg to get my toe over the brake :-(, but it's manageable.

The clips for me aren't that difficult to close. The boots are not too bad for walking, but because of the size and weight my legs ache loads after sitting down for a while.

Happy Christmas!
