The “dried bread” was great with the pack of tomatoes and a nice lump of Boursin cheese. It went down quite well with the view we had to feast upon.

Another cracking day from Castellane to Rencurel in the Vercors via the Route Napoleon then over the Col de Fontbelle,Col de Rousset,Col de Carri, Col de la Machine and through the Combe Laval and up the Gorge de la Bourne to Rencurel.Roads to Die for !!

I’m heading to the Limousin tomorrow and Ev is off to Switzerland and beyond .

Best road of the trip,in terms of riding ?

Definitely today, a toss up between the D93 from La Beaume to Luc-en-Diois

Never fails to impress me every time and I think is better than anything on the Route Napoleon !!

Pretty much done for me as heading via Riders’s Rest in Limousin tomorrow then back to my house in Brittany. Might be a few more pics but I’m sure Ev will add his as he’s still got some sights to see in Switzerland and Italy .

I’m liking the Hotel le Marronnier though . Affligem on tap !!!

As already had been mentioned, a cracking day today. I’ve even found a “SPORT” mode within a plethora of settings on that “iPad” of a screen that 1290 is graced with.

A few pics from ones perspective.

A very pleased with him self Monsieur Arsey. Having had finally made to his favourite lunch spot after a hunt for a “flavourless veggie shite” sarnie has finally been resolved for that “Lanky Lithuanian import”

SPORT mode = the Le Monster 1290 kept up with Mighty H2 SX Kwak all the way up the Col de Rousset.

The obligatory “We were there” photo at Combe Laval.

The meal and a bed for the night is somewhere up there.

Did somebody mention Rain? Nah, no such thing around here, you miserable lot! CHEERS!

Round two, still no rain. CHEERS!

The BMW owners club assembly has arrived! Those fuckers will be fiting over who’s bike is who’s first thing in the morning considering the consumption of sherbets that one has observed. No such issues for the two of us in the morning.

Yes it’s true . After 2 days of blue skies and dry roads Ev risked taking his 1290 out of Rain mode for the first time , and indeed was in my mirrors all the way up the Col de Rousset. That really is one amazing blat.

My Tiramisu dessert was ok

The Le Marronnier is certainly good value at €76 half board .

But Ev’s veggie dessert looks a bit shite !!!

Thoroughly enjoyed that blast! Seeing Monseur Frenchie on his R1200R “half an hour” later up the top, just showed sheer irresponsibility we took upon our self.

A bit bland, reminds me of something else, I just can’t for the life of me put a finger on it.

very enjoyable report gents and I am jealous.
I'm off to Rennes next Thursday to get my 12,000 mile service done at Boxer Passion and then spending the weekend in Brittany I shall try to keep up the standard shown on this thread but I fear I may fail.......

A quick walk around the village, to walk and breath in a fresh air.

Doing so, we have come across this fine selection of Dutch trailer Queens.
A 1290 Super Adventure T and (correct me if I’m wrong) an 800 Tiger?

My view on this:
It’s like going to a gym for 2 hours but rather than working out, you stare at the screen of your phone instead.

Heading back to the hotel, Monseur proceeded with loving some pink, I mean why not? If didn’t, I’d be worried
