I bought a bluetooth adapter £7.50 delivered off eBay instead of buying the one from autocom £90 and it works a treat, it's stand buy time is about two days, it can be plugged in to the music autocom port then Bluetooth to your bluetooth helmet wireless or to your bluetooth phone/sat nav
It's USB charged from your computer, I charge it from the bike, USB car charger adapter (£1.99 off eBay) if I'm touring

Found and ordered for my starcom, looks like a plan to me!

Fingers crossed:thumb

Just thought for £7:50 it's worth a punt!!

Might even make my old iphone 4 dock wireless for my 5??

:D

autocom and wire3a hassles

That looks like a mighty smart plan. I feel like a real dumb ass, because i bought two autocom wire 3, after having had to get a loan out with the IMF and world bank.

Anyway, i've been having wire 3 hassles, and have yet to get to the bottom of things. However, I've taken a bunch of photos of my initial set up - and have been having some dialogue with another unsuccessful wire3a set up.

have a look at this, and please let us know if your set up with your fleabay special works. would love to see some pictures.

Autocom is one of the easiest unit to set up, I would say its the bike to bike that's the hardest, so before you install everything pair up the Wilkie talkies first before you wire them to the bike, do the hard wire to your lids before setting up the Bluetooth then take the hard wire away so you can see its all work, then you can start adding each item (music, gps) then test as you go, so if you come across a item that will not work you no where the problem is
But it seams you have a lot of stuff there, from the photos it's hard to see exactly what you have.

Bluetooth unit arrived and is now charging from an on bike charger and works perfect with the starcom

Marvellous :JB

Will this do it all though?

The box in post #1 says 'Bluetooth Music Receiver', is that it or does it transmit as well? I suppose the 'Receiver' bit suggests not :nenau

I think that might be the difference between the Autocom products and this. Obviously if you don't use the phone, bike-to-bike or rider-to-pillion then this would still be a cost effective way of getting music and GPS instructions from your intercom to your Bluetooth enabled helmet.

I stand to be corrected by users of this item...

It just receives, for me and the other guy we just want the gps and music wireless to the autocom / starcom without the expense of the autocom Bluetooth

The device being discusses requires a separate charger to keep it topped up, whereas the Autocom equivalent is powered by the unit. It's a matter of convenience.
The only wat of getting an Autocom unit to talk to a BT headset that I know about is the WIRE3A module discussed on another thread.

I know that the Autocom BT headset is making it's debut at the London show but I can't be bothered to go.
