I am finding the handlebars on my 2007 1200GSA very uncomfortable in that the grip end of the bars seems to be at an angle that causes my thumbs to go numb after a short time. It feels like I just need to bend the bar ends back a bit to releave the pressure on my thumbs. I have tried altering the bars and also fitting risers but the problem remains. Anyone come across this problem or perhaps fitted alternative handlebars.

Hi , no mine seem ok up to now, have you tried googling Renthals, Wunderlich or Touratech?
cheers,
Martyn

Had a similar problem but I found it was the grips being too thin as opposed to the angle. 2 Karakal tennis grips later and I dont have the problem. Cheaper than new bars. There are some made for the job types you can buy somewere I think called grip puppies - about £11.:comfort

I Rolled mine back abit on my 06 gsa just loosen the clamp and roll it towards you,not too far or you'll hit the tank. The 08 gsa bars are better as they are on risers, the ergonomics seem better.

The grips are too thin, i have some cricket bat handle rubbers to fit when I get a big enough torx socket.

I have purchased some grip puppies and fitted them to the bike, I tried them out yesterday and found the bars to be a lot more comfortable. Thanks to everyone for there advice.

Glad you have a solution.

Something else to try is narrower bars. Did this with mine by cutting down the bar end weights 20mm either side although its a bit more difficult to do than you'd think. The off-road types might not want to do this but its better for road use and also makes it easier to get into the garage.

Kapake,

Can you let me know what size you ordered.
Cheers.
