It is after all the LC section

Okay its £32 a One off purchase....

1) How Much is your life worth "if" it doesn't take the strain ?

2) A wheel is £500 plus or less if 2nd hand on E bay

"IF" the possibility of theft of your rear wheel irks you so?

I would spend £32 since you have already spent a lot on the bike

Oh and remember that lock nuts need a smidgeon of grease on the mating faces or you could wreck the wheel getting it off!

I would not put that £3.50 bolt on my push bike...... Cheap chinkie shite....

Strongly suggest that if you want a locking wheel bolt for the rear to go to a decent alloy wheel specialist with one of your rear wheel bolts , they will be able to tell you if any cars use the same thread ie m10 x1.25 or m10 x 1.5 and the same conical or tapered seat and the same length .

Use a tepered bolt in a conical seat and it will potentially f@ck up the hub bolt seat area or even crack ithe hub .

So you may be able to get a set of four locking wheel bolts for a car but probably only one key ,however , for decent quality ones it will end up as expensive if not more

I am more worried about the bike being nicked than the wheel so I chain it through the hub to something solid and it makes it harder for them to nick either.

Buy the proper bolt. You are not paying £32 for a bolt. It's for peace of mind.

Sooner or later - you'll go to get a new tyre put on...........

and they'll tell you that the bolt won't come off. :blast

What age is your GS? That listing says it only fits up to the 2010 GS.

On a side note, if you were serious about buying the cheap £3.50 bolt.
I am a Nigerian Prince and I have a fantastic opportunity for you.

Just started doing that myself after seeing the photos on here of how Warlord chains his up.
In the garage it's a chain through the hub and out and about its a 12mm wire rope through the hub and ideally round a lamp-post too.

Purchased £17k bike but doesn't want to pay £32 for security bolt holding £800 wheel. Glad you are sorted for £15. More likely your bike will be stolen from your home than whilst on tour.
