Departed home on the morning of Wednesday 16th February, dropped in to London to meet SamD and then headed to the tunnel....

And then a quick blast in to Belguim for a beer and a kip in Brugges.

The monring saw us rise gently in time to see the Urals departing at about 0830. We felt we could allow ourselves a little more time, and eventually left the hotel at 0930.

At a fuel stop some 80 miles later we'd caught the outfits up:D

We arrived at the site without event at about 3 that afternoon.

Arriving at the site was only remarkable by a "roll-off the sidestand when getting on and landing in a rose bush" incident :blast:blast

Disappointingly the site was relatively warm at about 1.5c and sunny!!

More soon - sorry, work getting in the way!!!

Thursday night was a feet up around the fire night interupted by one highlight.

Order of the day at the AE is to hoon around the site on your sidecar - preferably pissed, and do lots of hard turns, and kick up loads of dirt :D

Our evening took a dramtic turn when a German chap hooned down our road in the pitch black, turned sharply and immediately flipped the sidecar over trapping his female passenger underneath. This was a "bike over sidecar" incident and action was required.

We all immediately got the whole thing back up the right way to shouts of Schnell....Schnell... from the rider like some kind of comedy Nazi prison guard :D

All that seemed to be damaged was a headlight, and the rider transpired to be Guido - a guy the others had met a previous year. We did the only decent thing and invited him to join us for a beer.

He returned the next morning to show us his 1951 outfit previously owned by his father.

As we had Urals with us no day would have been complete without some running repairs....
