Has anyone bought and fitted the ALTRIDER Engine Bars for the GS1250? If so what do you think of them, are they worth the extra money over the other brands out there?

Cheers

Had them on my 1200LC, they are Heavy Duty! So worth it if you think you might need them!

I have fitted the SW-Motech stainless steel lower bars to my 1250 GSA and they too have the 4 point mount like the Altrider.
Bought them from Louis.eu for £200 delivered when they had a promotion.

The Altriders were my prefered choice but they are not compatible with the Adventure because the top forward mount clashes with the fairing.
I dropped my bike 3 times in very muddy trails and not a scratch anywhere. I also have the X-heads fitted. Below are a few pics to give you an idea.

I had to make a bracket for the OEM top bars to fit the SW-Motechs because they don't have the mount of the BMW lower bars.

I had to strip the bike completely to get rid of all the mud :blast:D

I have them fitted to my 1250GS and can say they are superb quality. Fitment and alignment is spot on. I chose them after I had them on two previous 1200 and they proved their worth several times.

I may have them available to sell quite soon as I have another project planned. Unmarked and in black.

I have them on my 1200GS and they do seem worth the extra cash. They protected my bike when i stupidly had a fall (low speed) and apart from the paint damage on the bars they are still near perfect. The only issue i would raise is that if you want to get a paint match it can be quite tricky (as all the matching paints are from the US).
