I started off in this forum with an 1150 GSA SE. I then sold it (biggest mistake aver) and bought a K1200GT. I then sold that and got an R1200 GSA and eventually sold that too......

I've now bought an R1100GS - which has some work to do on it but I think mechanically its sound.

I hope I've made up for having an R1200 GSA and can be allowed back in one of the sensible forums

Yeah.. well, there's a waiting list for 1200 owners that have upgraded to an oilhead... so we'll let you know...:thumb2

Welcome home! A similar journey to my GS history. Enjoy doing up the 1100GS. I love mine and have no intention of moving on. Red is the best colour as well!

You'll be amazed at what a bit of scrubbing and a splash of silver hammerite will achieve. Welcome back

I have the silver hammerite and plenty of it.

Will post pics as I do stuff but don't expect anything to soon - I want to ride it first and tart it up over the winter.

The way winters going you'll have plenty of time to do it!!.

Respect to anyone who puts their hand up to making a mistake especially doing it twice.....but you have seen the error of your misguided ways so welcome home:clap

We'd been through the Pyrenees from Santander and popped into my mates place in the Dordogne for a few days.

And the infamous sheepskin covers. Richard did mention them....
