Later this afternoon, I plan to visit HG in Southampton to see if I can get my Voyager 3 trousers changed.

I originally bought a just under pair 2 years ago.

Last summer I got them changed 'cos they were leaking at the crotch.

We;ll, the replacement pair have now decided to do the same thing. Itw as like wearing a wet nappy yesterday.

They've only ever been washed in the NikWax stuff they recommend.

Is it asking too much that a pair of trosuers sold as waterproof should last longer than 12 months before leaking like a sieve?

I was hoping that they would replace with a better pair, with me paying the difference in cost.

IIRC someone has said that the guarantee of two years is for the original pair and any others. That is, if you get new ones because of faults every month, then after 2 years you won't get any more.

BTW in my experience GoreTex stuff never leaks, maybe Mr Gore is involved with the QA side and won't let anybody, let out tat, that'll sully their name.

No - you are fine. That's not Fit for Purpose and Satisfactory Quality - they owe you another change.

If they have a 2 year warranty and you are still within that, then you should be fine. Your experience with the trousers echos my own that I had with HG a few years back. They only had a 1 year warranty back then and when the second pair failed outside of the year (first pair lasted 3 months) HG were not interested.

Well, they exceeded my expectations.

My original trousers had HG's own Gore-tex type stuff.

The ere was immediate acceptance of the problem and an offer change.

Got myself talked into paying extra and getting more expensive genuine Gore-tex pair this time.

But, rather than having to pay the full amount of the extra cost, I was only asked to contibute 50% 'cos I'd bene let down twice!.

RESULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HG have exceeded my expectaions.
