AMAZON FIRE STICK & KODI

I bought one of these sticks purely to stream movies and tv for free, sideloaded the kodi app and installed add ons in particular Genesis.
All worked fine until a couple of weeks ago when selecting streams to play kodi would freeze.
Ive uninstalled and re installed most up to date versions to no avail, I also have kodi/genesis on an android tablet and it works fine on that so im thinking it may be the stick itself ?
Any ideas.

Is there a reset button on the device to reboot it?

Having looked there does seem to be a fair bit about the problem on the "net" but you've no doubt looked at all that.

You just power it down to reboot, some of the stuff on the net is a bit too technical for me really, I'd hoped for some plain english even if its not what I want to hear, pity really as it worked great for a few weeks but now im running out of patience.
