I’m away on my bike using MRA via Car Play.
One thing I’ve noticed is if I add or remove a waypoint from one of my routes , the change only sticks if done via the web as the iPad or phone doesn’t want to reflect the route amendment .
Anybody else found this ?

I am not sure I understand your question, Martin.

Can you set it out in Janet and John language, please.

Thanks.

I’ve got routes on my MRA which show up on both iPad/phone and on MRA website ,

But if I want to amend a route by simply adding an extra waypoint , I have to do this on the website via a browser as if I add it on iPad or phone it doesn’t save it and reverts to the original route .

A map and pencil. That’s what you need , they always work. :D

As MyRoute is cloud based, I can only assume that your iPad or iPhone are not connected to the internet?

Have you tried asking the question on the excellent MyRoute forum?

This does not happen for me. If I edit routes on phone or tablet, then the changes are automatically synched across all devices. But - as Wapping says says, if you don't have internet connectivity at the time of editing, then there is no way it can synch back to the cloud. That said, it should do so when you get connected again.

Both connected , but no I haven’t

I'm also away and just added a waypoint to my route via my iPad. I then checked my MacBook and the changes are reflected on my MacBook, iPad and iPhone.

First rule of IT support. Turn it off and on again. If the apps not doing what it should be then I’d try deleting it and reinstalling it and see if that kicks it back to behaving properly.

That is exactly how it does (or at least, should) work, as it’s all cloud based. Change or amend a route on one device and the change is ‘stored’ on the cloud. The change will then appear on a second device, just as soon as the second device opens the route for itself.

Does that mean you cannot AirDrop a route between devices?

MRA has its quirks-tried to route me down the steepest pedestrian hill in Dinan !!

Between Apple devices

Between your own Apple / Android devices, you don’t need to, providing each can connect to the internet. Allow each to access your MyRoute account and just summon up the route.

Or, to send the route to a friend, it’s no different to exchanging any other GPX file, or indeed a Word or Excel file. Airdrop it or email or exchange it by whatever means works best for each of you.

Save as > Chose type > Download > Select file from wherever your downloads live > Forward it to anyone you’d like to send the file to, including yourself if you feel like it.

I think I have been up there or something narrower, cobbled and steeper on my 1600.

I remember praying that nobody open their front door and stepped out. At the top was a very tight and still very steep T-junction of sorts, which they had dug up for some works or another….. I prayed even harder that nobody was standing there gossiping as I dared not stop. All was well.

Yup, always check the route, which is where street view does come in handy, though some (less enlightened souls) would drum you out of the Brownies for even thinking about it.

That looks great. Just about my favourite kind of road. Especially in the rain. Did you ask it to generate an interesting route, because it seems like it did.

No.I simply planned a route from my house to Dinan via a couple of waypoints.

This is what I was on about :

I thought it may have been dodgy phone signal but just tried again at home using 300 meg wifi.

I’ll now do the same thing but using the web based MRA site as opposed to the app :
