Well i've just bitten the bullet so to speak. 3500 miles of bloody uncomfortable seat on my 2010 GSA.

Fantastic bike in all other ways, just a bloody uncomfortable seat.

So...Ive ordered a front and rear Sargent seat. Expensive I know but I just can't put up with the original any longer.

Seem a good bunch, ordered on line at 12.00 today and asked if it cound be dispatched today for a delivery tomorrow so I have it for the weekend.
Said he would do his best.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow.:thumb2

I have a 2010 GSA and after 3000 miles I did the same!
Didn't like it much to start with, but after a couple of hundred miles I realised my *rse didn't hurt any more.
When I rode through French villages standing up, it wasn't to let everyone admire me, it was because I couldn't physically sit down any more !

They do bed in......so give it a chance, then you'll love it. :thumb2

32000 miles on mine and it didn't bed in.had to go the sargent route.

First time I put the sargent seat on my 1150 it felt like a plank. After a 200 mile ride I realised it's a very comfortable plank. Ties with muffs for the best upgrade I've done.

Must admit the arse ache from the OE seat is starting to get on my nerves but the Sargeant seats are just so bloody expensive.
I know you get a good chunk back when you sell them on but the initial outlay is just too much for me in these harsh times :rob

nick what sort of milage are you doing ?? , because ive just took my sargent off and trying the standard seat again :)

Whats that about?

I was happily reading this thread and convinced myself at last to bite the bullet and buy a Sargent seat when you put doubts in my mind again. Bugger!!!!

I'm still buggered cos I'm back to wondering whether its worth the risk.......

Can you describe what you don't like about it please?

I had same issues with standard seat - ruined the bike.
20k miles on I shelled out for a Corbin. ( had on on an st1100 years back so I know they work ). Cost the earth, had a 2 month plus wait but by christ what a difference.
31k miles now and all day comfortable.

Worth EVERY penny.

yeah course i can , but as i say dont let me put you off ,but i did expect a little bit more for 300 quid . i just find my ass gets just as numb , and you slide around on it more than the standand seat when off road and you cant move backwards or forwards on the seat because you have to sit where the seat has been shaped , bare in mind this is my personal views only and theres been loads of threads on here regarding bikers loving them :thumb2

Wierd, I find the OEM GSA seat the comfiest I've ever ridden. Took about 2.5k to bed in but now find it great :thumb2

im thinking that myself now snerkler , the oem seat was new when i bought the bike and im wondering now if i should have gave it a bit longer first :augie

On my second week with my new Sargent seats. Did 15,000 kms. on the standard seat but it still caused numb bum. The Sargent takes getting used to but I can feel the difference already. I went for the low option and it has also helped reduce the buffering I was experiencing at "slightly" higher speeds. Very expensive purchase but well worth it imho. :)

I always found the OE seat bearable..it'd take serious miles before it'd start to be a problem....I've done 900 miles in a day on it!!

....but the Sargent is a definate improvement. They take a bit of getting used to cos they bed in, and they seem to position you in a slightly different position (least it felt that way to me). But once done you don't really think about any seat/numb bum issues. :thumb2

Bugger....

Well, what can I say?

Sargent seat arrived today, great service, quick delivery, in time for the weekend. BUT they sent the wrong fecking seat. I seem to have a low seat when I ordered a standard one.
The box is clearly marked...LOW...

Well bugger... thats messed me about, they are closed till Tuesday and god knows what I'll have to do to sort this out.:blast
