Anakee 3

Any reports on wear and handling on the 1200 adventure please, Thinking of a set for the next big trip.
Cheers R.B
I HAve them fitted on my GS and so far i am very impressed !
Grip levels are confidence inspiring and the turn in and tracking through bends seems sharper which may be due to the stiffer carcass

cant comment on milleage yet but have a big trip up to and round the highlands next week !

3,s

Had a set fitted last week,First impressions were much quieter than the anakee 2s also the suspension feels a lot softer.

Had these for about 2k miles now and they provide v good handling in the wet and dry. Time will tell on the wear front but presently I'm well pleased.:thumb

Had them fitted about 1 month ago on 1200gsa, had anakee 2s on before. Grip is fine, but as it seems to turn quicker seems less, if that makes sense. Front end seems lighter, but that could be all todo with profile. Wear seems fine, no better or worse than previous. Most riding is motorway and then heavy traffic through city.

Didnt understand "grip is fine but as it turns in quicker seems less" Do they slide around or just make the bike feel more agile?

Different tyres Anakees are a road biased adv tyre the other is a pure road tyre.

Both good tyres IMHO and expensive.:aidan

More agile, they don't slide, its much more of a road tyre than the anakee2 were.

Thinking of getting a set this weekend but a few reports of being very noisy, sounds like final drive gone was one report. Any one experienced this?

Was originally after Tourance Next but no one (local) has stock of front. Metzeler uk are waiting for a delivery.

Am having a set of Anakee 3s fitted to my bike tomorrow. Did some research on them and came across this article. So far the guy has done 12000+ on the rear tyre....:D

The anakee to me is the very best wet weather tyre I have ever put on a bike..
The rp3 is the best all round tyre I have ever put on a bike
.....................
If you live in the uk ( it rains alot) then go anakee..If you tour alot in Dry weather then rp3...
Both tyres are the top of the range, and I doubt you will ever ride beyond the tyre in this coutry ( legal speeds)...
Do you ever go off road...never,,,ever...rp3
A tiny bit off road, maybe a bit of goat track (b or c roads ) then anakee..

BUT, you knew this already..as for longevity..thats your prob..will the anakee outlast the pr3 ? I would SUGGEST that the pr3 MIGHT last longer at high speed that the anakee just because the anakee is a duel purpose tyre..but the tread on the anakee is massive....9mm (I THINK)...

Phoned Watling tyres today Anarkee 3 front £95.00 rear £110.00 fitted and balanced to loose wheels.
not bad me thinks?
