I was never a fan of the original anakee adventures on my 1250 and quickly moved over to the Bridgestone AT41. Bloody hell they were noisy. Just seen Michelin have released the Anakee adventure 2 and they look akin to a modern Metzeler Tourance! I love these tires on my 1150 but might change them up when needed just to give em a go.

They don’t look to have very deep tread compared to most adventure tyres. Won’t sell many if they are percieved to not last very long by comparison. I’ve got the original Adventures on my old R850GS, quite happy with them. Must get it back up n running🤦‍♂️

They’re certainly more road biased as opposed to the annikee wilds!

I was going to go for the Road 6 for my 1250 which seem to have an excellent reputation as a road tyre. However, cosmetically (I know ) these Anakee Adventure 2's will certainly look the part on a GS. I'm sure they will perform well as regards grip on the road but I don't like the prospect of a noisy tyre.
Hopefully as more road tests are carried out the noise aspect will become clearer.

As part of the marketing spilge (number one on the list!) they mark them a perceived 30% quieter…

Tested on an R 1300. That did make me chuckle, every review I have read or seen of the R 1300 goes on to say how noisy the engine is (sound like a bag of spanners, apparently ).
No wonder the rider couldn't hear the tyre's much.

Or am I just being cynical ?

Crikey, I have just realised these tyres have been out for ages. I need to do more research obviously.

Apparently they’ve only just been released (January 2026) so may have been in development for some time!

Just done a bit of research myself, yes these appear to be a new version of an old tyre. (y)

they look like part worn tyres, if I just looked at them on a bike i would think have the life of the tyre had been used

They were developed to address the noise issue with the original Anakee

The noise reduction is very significant - statement made based on personal experience of riding 16000 kms on them

The rear tyre lasted about 16000 kms on my 1300 GS
The front is still going strong and may reach 20000 kms

Great tyre

Thanks Digby. May take a look

I found the original anakees not very confidence inspiring at all. How do these handle ?

Thanks for the input digby.

16000 kms already ! I thought these tyres had only just been released. Not much stock available in the U.K. from what I can see.

French roads tend to be in better condition than ours (smooth and no bumps), no offence but I think I will await a good U.K. test before I take the plunge, I hope they are quiet because they will look the part on a GS.

I presume you did a few miles on the previous version around the Auvergne ?

I was lucky enough to be able to assist M in the road evaluation of these tyres

Handling is great - I’m not the most extreme rider but last summer in the alps was great…never had any negative sensation and managed 40 degree lean angle with baggage

These were my first anakees - experience on the anakee 1 was when I did the test drive on another bike - noisy as hell

A factory test rider, no less ! Nice !

May I suggest they increase the budget next time and supply you with a return ticket for Le Shuttle and sufficient funds to get you to the West Midlands, that way you could check the off road capabilities at the same time. :giggle: :):) (y)

These are on my list. The spec sounds good. I’ll be coming off AT41’s which are definitely 90/10 and fabulous in the wet. The Adventure 2’s look 80/20 so look a promising option.
