Was out today scrubbing in my new Anakees on my 1100 and during a brief stop I noticed that both tyres were steaming (it was wet and fairly cold) I'm running at the BMW pressures of 32/36 but the heat in the tyres suggests that might be a bit low.

What are others using?

When I used them on a 1200 it was at 32/36.

Steaming on a cold day, could just be relative temps. Most unlikely you are cooking them ... Did they feel hot as in ouch, or just warm?

36/42 is for full load (pillion and luggage), 32/36 is right for solo use unless you're on the 'solidly built' side in which case you might want to up them a bit for solo use.

I tend to run mine at 34/40 because I ride most of the time with a pillion but without luggage. It's all common sense really.

Better steaming than not. A hot tyre is a good tyre! that's why they have tyre warmers for racers. Can't say we see much of the steaming tyre in Shetland.... and it's not through a shortage of rain:augie
