And the next adventure for the buggered old geezer and carer!

So a well deserved kip in Hotel Locomo. Decent clean hotel in a busy part of town
..not used to this city life!
70 today! Who'd have guessed! Never tought I'd get that far!
Bit of peace now and then stir myself/carer to get ready for the next leg.
And no, I haven't lost a toe, nor a wallet, nor dropped one upon the other.....1000003273.jpg

Early start for the next step...TGV Lyria waits for no man. Need to pick up some brek on the way. Don't understand how forrin horels can charge so much for breakfast, when it is, essentially, bread....hey ho, there'll be something to pick up in the station I'm sure...

A two storey train!
Upstairs into our first class seating....the difference between 1st and 2nd is much less than it is in GB....but worth it! Less kids!1000003285.jpg

1000003290.jpgOut into the still dark Paris burbs...
Able to read the paper until its light enough to see the french countryside.
These trains really are good....proper investment, combined with the dubious advantage of having to rebuild the lot after 1944. The smaller loading gauge of Britains railways prevents the widespread use of double deck trains.

Cali sleeper. Excellent concept. I regularly used it going to Dundee as it was comparable in price to any other way of getting there, plus a room for the night. Not been on it since they upgraded it, the kharzi looks better.

Happy birthday Gerard .... 70 eh!

Well done ol' bean :thumb

Not as quick as this :)

My personal record in 330 kph on the Spanish AVE between Lleida and Zaragoza. Normally it's a 300 kph but they use this desert section to make up time as otherwise they have to give you your money back! :)

Thanks chaps..
Early morning mist and 180mph don't do much for sight seeing and photys bu a civilised speed improves views through Dijon....seems odd crossing roads I know I have travelled before on 2 wheels..
