And the next adventure for the buggered old geezer and carer!

We toured up to Bellagio which is at the join of the three 'arms' of the loch. Avery busy bustling town but we managed to dive off and grab a table in what our man said was the best restaurant in town....probably owned by his cousin...and had a delicious lunch...I had linguine with forest mushroom, burrata and goose liver.
Cherry had seafood linguine.
Both delicious. I know I know, it's foie gras....I'm sorry but I love it...1000003541.jpg

A glorious way to enjoy Sunday lunch in the Italian sun, safe in the knowledge that Scotland is being hammered by shite weather. Sorry. Don't give a shit.

Onto another ferry for the journey to Varenna.
We had been here before, last year, on the bike, having crossed from Menaggio.

The weather is being exceptionally warm, even for here and the whole loch was alive with Sunday fun seekers. Lots of skin and breast on display. Shocking. Filthy.
Varenna has developed its waterside location with a charming walkway ...

After a wee wait in the sun we borded our final craft across the loch to Mennagio.
A year ago...well 16 months now..we were waiting to board when one of the ferry guys asked where we were from....'you came from Scotland this.....mama mia!'1000003566.jpg

You'll see our coach waiting for us in the background. A foul journey in the sunny Sunday traffic back to Milan followed, arriving back nearly 2 hrs later than we should have. Hey ho...the coach was air conditioned and although the driver was a member of the centre lane owners vlub and had clearly learned lane discipline on the M25 we got back safe and sound.
I detected lips being curled at the notion of an organised coach trip but given we had no other transport, and spent all of the time off the bus doing our own thing we were content that it was a good day and a worthwhile enterprise.
Tomorrow starts the trail north...

An early morning start and into Milano Centrale for the next leg....a very busy station, but a very smart one..
I have deduced that a station is a good place for flesh and breast spotting...they are more inclined to be in a hurry which increases jiggling.1000003578.jpg1000003577.jpg

I had originally bought tickets on the Frecciorossa direct to Paris. However a serious rockfall over the French border has closed this line for several months, so I found alternatives via Geneva, with a couple of hours to spare in Geneva. Cant think of a nicer place to spend a Monday lunchtime.
The Milan-Geneva train is very smart, with First class right in the front...ie, the other end..1000003579.jpg

North East across Lombardy, and into Piedmont, following the shore of Loch Maggiore for a while..then into the pre-alps towards the border. Glorious day again.
No wifi on train so relying on shore power....too feeble for photys...
