Went for a run on the bike today and got a complaint from the other half that the modified silencer was droning at lower rpm,(<3K),with the modified engine.
Didn't want to refit a standard system as it was designed for 70bhp, so decided to fit the R1100RS silencer,main reason being that it was designed to go with the rest of the engine package.
Bolted on no problem,just had to make a short bracket to go between the silencer and the footrest hanger.
I don't think it looks too bad. The R1100RS pipes are a slightly different shape so I might fit those as well.
Top tip: the silencer was a bit cruddy,(technical word),ran the bike,warmed the silencer,liberal coating of spray-on oven cleaner,10 minutes later,wash off,gleaming!
