I find that the bars on my 06 GS are at a slightly odd angle and this is giving me pains in the elbow:tears

I belive that the 08 bars are different.

Can anyone tell me if the angle has changed and if so do they feel more natural?

Thanks

Phil

When I test road a new GS demonstrator in 2006 I could see the indicator switches but the used bike I bought from them I could not. When I mentioned it I was informed you cannot move the bars it was just seat angle etc that I could the switches.

I put up with sore wrists for 2 years (only when riding in heavy traffic) and 2 weeks ago finally moved the bars as I had the tools out in the garage. I can now see the indicator buttons and no more pain in the wrists. I do not know if the previous owned had moved them down.

Before I moved the bars I marked them in relation to the riser and only moved them 2 notches forward as any further meant the break/clutch fluid was at an angle.

Try it, it felt funny at first but now feels right. I am sure somebody will be along with the correct torque settings for the bolts.

Cheers

Alex

i posted the specs of the magura bars a while ago http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152759

I had the same problem with my 07 oem bar, elbows were sore after a few hours riding, very uncomfortable. I swapped to the x line bar and despite the angle not being that different i get no pain. I'm not sure if its the sweep or the fact that the old bar was like a solid bar that didn't damp the vibration but whatever, it cured my problem

as has been said you can try tipping bar forward and back but mine seeme to work in the same kind of angle as the oem. I've now installed bar risers to bring it to same height as before, i preferred the lower position but throttle cable can rub the tank on full lock.
