One of the bolts that holds and adjusts my front screen, is going round and round in it's nut. In other words the nut that is moulded into the plastic fixing is now not held firm anymore and I can't remove or adjust my screen.

Any clever ideas as to how to solve this....before I break my sceen off in a fit of rage, jump on it , smash it to feck and go inside for a beer!

Cheers

dave

can you get a flat headed screwdriver in the side and use this to try and stop it turning while you loosen the main bolt
good luck

Mine did the same thing, ended up carefully removing the head of it with an angle grinder.

Pressure..

Have you tried to slid a wedge under the head ot he bolt to pull the nut up against the plastic, and then tried undoing the nut??
You might get enough pressure against it to undo it.. had to do something smiliar with fairing on a mates bike. Took a long time, but eventually got it out without damaging anything.. long nose pliars used to lever against the head to keep the tention at first, then some a bit of wood as bolt came out and got longer.

Other wise, some carefull dremeling or anglegrinding to take the head off as above suggestion, but personally i would resort to this last. Good luck..

Too late, screen bust! It was a real bastard to get out.
It was my 'Long Distance Givi' (at least it served it's purpose in Morocco)

I put the original back and went in for a beer.

Now looking on Nippy Normans for a new screen...may go for the adventure replacement they do. Seems a good price...

Stark warning...don't over tighten them there bolts (don't remember doing so, but I guess I must have)

Thanks for all the help. :thumb2
