Nobby,
I have to agree about the old K's. I had an old A reg K100. 200,000. Rattling balancer shaft gave way in the end, as the early ones did. Then bought a D reg 75s sold it with 180,000, sounded as sweet at that mileage as when I got it. I only sold it 'cos I got a company bike.

As for the pole, my yearly miles are about 40K now which is what I bought this GS for. We'll see how it goes..........

Got my licence March 04 and did 8k (about 5k of which was 2 up) on my Pan before trading it in December for my eagerly awaited GS.

We aim to do easily the same if not more in 05, but on seperate bikes.

Had been doing between 20-30k a year for about 3 years running.... before parting with my trusted Pan last March and selling it to Eddy (last entry) who i'm glad to see has had continued good service from her :D

GS12 on order.... Roll on End of March !!!!!

Annual Milage

I ride my bike (1150GS Adv) every opportunity I get, especially at weekends. All winter, so long as there is no chance of frost or ice lasting all day.

Last year I did 17,558 miles.

Hope this is useful.:P

4k in a month (picked up late Dec) I cant keep off the b_loody thing - I find myself getting up 2 hours early just to ride the long way to work via the fantastic Hills roads we have here !!

"Just off th the shops dear - via Alice Springs !!!" :D

I use the GS to commute 300 miles week on, but do try to split the mileage with my 250 scooter. But even though the scooter does 90 and wil hapily cruise at 80 all day, there is no power to accelerate above 50 really. So I tend to favour teh GS rather than get stuck behind lorries etc.

I always use the scooter for local use, shopping etc. Its lighter and easier to use and has good storage capacity under the seat.

I went riding round Normandy last weekend. I took the scooter and not the GS! :P

Generally 6k a year but then I only get out on it at the weekend........work, golf, snooker, drinking and shagging gets in the way during the week ;) :D

I've had the GS since August last year. Its been in the dealers for warrantee work for about a week ish in all. Took it off the road totally when all the salt was about, and rode the Honda CB1 400. So I've clocked 9,000 since August, & another 2,000 on the Honda.
Then there's the courtesy bikes, 2 x 650 and the 850 naked road bike, probably about another 500. No car. Well she has one, but I don't use it for commuting. People at work say wouldn't I rather be in a car when its wet? No!

Probally the exception to the rule here ...

i on average do between 80 and 90 k a year on the bike and in all weathers (including snow   )

dont drive a car ,back probs and im a dispatcher , on my 1150 gs , did it on my 11rs befoer but i eaved the white flag at 200ksih and that was electrical probs , the motor was still sweet as !!!
