Annual Pioneer run -22nd march

First bikes leave Epsom downs from 7am , last departs approx 9am.

Obviously seeing as the newest bikes are 95 years old usually means the shortest routes

I just follow the signs marked "pioneer run" that are on the roads.

....and if you are not planning on following them from the start ? Living about half way between Epsom & Brighton I thought it be nice to catch them if they come any where near.

That long lost sense called initiative can be let loose to find which of the two roads heading south will be used.
I'll throw another clue in your direction. On one of the two roads look out for thousands of all types of bikes heading in the same direction on sunday morning.

Oh, and the hundreds of RAC road signs pointing the way for the pioneer run

If 7 a.m. at Epsom is too early for ya (probably is for me) some of the guys I plan to go with reckon a good meeting point is the cafe at Cowfold on the A281, say 10.00 onwards

It's one of the few times of the year when bikes can get their own back on trucks by leaving their own oil slicks everywhere.

That might be difficult. All the euro boys and their families all come over as well as competitors from every point in the country which means everything local is fully booked.

And don't forget boys and girls when park yer bike at glorious brighton, be very careful where you stick it' as it where !.....cause the don't like it up on the pavement anymore and they're out in force again lately the ticket brigade.

It certainly isn't typical of the sort of friendly helpful advice I have come across on this forum up until now. There are simply loads of routes they could take but I don't suspose you're able to get your brian in gear and use a bit of commonsense to realise it might be fair simplier to narrow down the options by asking someone you might know. Clearly asking a Mod was a wrong move- sorry to have troubled you.

And I thought I had upset some twit on the 1200 'Technical and rider (that's important, I've been told) section who couldn't go shopping for a cheap alternative pannier bag without someone holding his hand.

Clearly I have much to learn. I will get my Brian in gear at once. It will then be fair simplier.

Don't take it to serious......... pop along to handcross village just off A23 or pease pottage services about 9 ish and sit and wait with a flask of tea.
