Setting my Harry Enfield blue anorak aside, I welcome a discussion on airhead engine oil filling funnels and where people have got them from, what works best etc.

I've used a standard oil funnel (concentric) for years but find it awkward to say the least. I see Siebenrock sell wide but short funnels for €9 and I've seen somewhere an offset funnel (which is making me twitch with excitement) but I don't know if the one I'm looking at on line will fit. https://www.wirthco.com/funnel-king/galvanized-funnels-measurers/offset-oil-locking (it's in USA anyway).

With my R90S the access is pretty good but as the tank gets bigger (R100GSPD and my RS with large Heinrich tank) the access gets ridiculous. Please, no one suggest a replacement rocker cover with a filler cap integrated.

So, wotcha' got?

I hate to say it but I’ve been using the long orange Harley Davison one, would buy another one if I ever lost it or bust it.

Thence - I use one of those for the gearbox but have to cable-tie it something as it takes a while for the oil to transfer (and I bore easily). The engine oil would take forever! The exit hole is small and the filter arrests the flow...
Fair enuff but the filter could be cut out and the end of the spout trimmed a bit to improve the flow? And it's only £5 so get another one & use one for motor oil and t'other for the gearbox ?

The flexible hose that comes free with adblue fits into the airhead filler hole…. Then add a large plastic funnel to the top.

It’s FREE….. so I use it.
It’s not the best solution, but works well as the adblue hose is quite long.

I have a hand pump with a thin metal spout attached to a hose at the dispensing end.
One end goes in the oil container, the other end in the filler hole.
Takes 11 pumps , about 30 seconds, to fill an airhead engine.
Had it for about 20 years can’t remember where I got it from
