had a new clutch in my 1100gs unfortunately the gearbox seal has gone leavin the clutch oily to say the least! (3000 miles on new clutch:eek:),
rudiemoto:comfort although workin 24/7 has very kindley stripped my bike, question is do i buy complete kit or just a plate, also would you replace any seals whilst the bike is stripped even if there not leakin? pushrod is also quite worn at both ends what could have caused this?i have trawled the threads on clutches, just hopin i get sum miles out of this rebuild!:thumb2

personally

I would change the complete clutch and the seal that's leaking. It is false economy to replace just the plate as you'll probably end up having to do it all again much sooner than you would normally. Otherwise leave the other seals alone, but I'm no expert:augie

you can change the engine rear main seal while opening it, but for the seal in the gearbox, you have to open the gearbox in order to replace it, it doasn't just come off like the engine one.
