black heads

can I ask, what system did you use for colouring the rocker covers.
paint
powder coating
etc.
I like the look

H

halfords high temp metalic black ....

spent an hour cleaning and preping them (tooth brush /petrol and wd40) then 5mins spraying them up and jobs a good un , just sprayed straingt over the original coat , dont it before on an 1100rs and it stood up very well , and cos its paint its very easily touched up , do it while on the bike , just a quick squirt to cover any stone chips ...

tbh its actually a grey rathen than black but hey it works

I hope you used a residue free solvent/degreaser after that petrol and WD40 treatment,or you`ll have silver rocker covers again soon.....

P.S. Your 'Number 8' sticker is on the piss.... :hide

Trouble is, you'll need to drop the front wheel again to take it off.... :nod

Once you get the Black on, it'll be something like a good'un :thumb

out of curiosty what difference does the cast wheels really make except lowering the front by an inch ?

Quickens the steering and allows a greater choice in the rubber you can fit...

CC, where's your end can?? Bike looks great BTW, is that an Adventure tank as well? I'm sorely tempted to convert mine after seeing that!!

Hi Goose,

No "End Can" now, just a wee pipe to take the exhaust gases away from the pillions foot/pannier.

I did used to use a 'Y' piece and Carbon Can by 'Blue Flame'....I'm now saving the Planet.... :angel

The tank is a standard GS with the stickers removed.

You can see a few old pics here

CC well your bike was the reason why i did mine black (the wheels and not the rest)

just got the swing arm/ bevel box and footpeg hanger thingies to do now

wanna do the rear rack but im thinking that would be a pain in the arse so wont get done ...
still musing over weather to do the fork bottoms / bridge and top yolk ...
The heads and barrells are gonna get doen the same silver as the rocker covers , prolly do em tommrow depends if if ive enough time to strip the motor down that far ... probally not

also where u get that mudguard and belly pan from ? i ride all year and need the mudguard or the front of the motor will get mullered , the belly pan just looks cool :D

No im keeping the tank .. bloody magpies on ere :yelrotflm :yelrotflm

oh its serves me right for putting the stickers on at night , but i got impaitent ... tother side is better , but when the black beak is on ...... might get some silver ones and do the same but smaller ....

Oh and does it hadle better ..:eek::eek::eek: yea it does
got the right rocker cover down toady coming back the silly way from kings lynn to pborough (set the 3 top average speeds in tom tom to 10mph and it avoids mways , and all major a roads .... sends u some very intresting ways !

oh and one thing , it makes a little more intresting getting it onto the center stand ... like putting my back out intresting !!

Number 8, you must do some miles to be needin new rubber every 3 weeks!
Back wheel drops straight out with hugger in place.
Keeps the arse end clean too.
What tyres have you tried? I am on 207RRs at the mo and they seam pretty good so far.

aye
about 1500 - 2000 miles a week , long distance dispatcher ... just got back from a 500mile day , thats about normal

but to take the back wheel off u need to take the caliper off , so surley u need to take the hugger off

still i rekon it loks cack :P

im on 020's atm , used 207rr and standard and i rip me up in 4-5tho miles .. the 020's last 8-10tho
used tourances and riped them up in 5k ....and they didnt handle as well as the 020's

Frisky or coolcarbon, where did you get your front mudguards from, please? Or is that top secret ;-) Home made?

I'm about to fit alloys (got them sat beside my desk....) and will need a mudguard before the winter comes. No chance of using the standard one - looks really bad with the 17" front.

Take a look at link or search Fallert.. should give you plenty of info.
Pic shows Fallert mudguard (was Coolcarbons) fitted to my GSA

Hmm, I'd already tried to look at the Fallert website before but it's not very user-friendly for those of us who sprache keine Deutsche. This time I found the mudguard and have placed an order......but I didn't give any payment details (wasn't asked for any) so God only knows what happens next....

They have funky looking fairings for the GS, don't they?! Like the Tourensportverkleidung, for example.
