Just bought myself one of the aero trim spoilers from Herblobs in my eternal quest to reduce buffeting and wind noise on my GSA (I'm 6'4" and have the seat in high position so am prone to suffering buffeting and noise). Having tried many different spoilers these things tend to be very personal and some get better improvement than others etc. As the aero trim is adjustable obviously this gives better scope and different people will have to set it up to their own requirements. However, I was just wondering if there was a general rule of how best to eliminate noise and buffeting, i.e. is there an angle that's considered to be best such as getting the spoiler as parallel to the original screen as possible?

Also, what a pain in the arse it is trying to mould the base plates to fit the curvature of the screen :blast

Take off screen less noise and buffeting

Or get one of those extra tall Cee bailey jobbies but they are a bugger when you're going up hill or working in Fog Mine may be for the chop soon!

I tried everything to reduce buffeting on my bike , nothing worked . Tried a mates schuberth c3 , problem solved . It might be your helmet .

Helmets definitely play a part, as do ear plugs obviously. I tried the C3 and it is a marvel in sound reduction, but I find the ratchet type chin straps very uncomfortable and they don't do it with the double D system :blast

Wind noise and turbulence from the screen definitely causes problems though as you'll see from the hundreds of threads on this, and no helmet will eliminate this completely. Screen spoilers do reduce it a lot (The TT and Wunderlich ones do for me anyway) but still not great. I have found that if I have the TT spoiler fitted and put the seat on the low setting then the noise level is fantastic, but this is no good for the leg room for me. It must be great if you're 6' or under.

I could have the seat in the lower position and lower the pegs, but I prefer the vantage point of being higher up :blast I'm hoping (probably very naively) that I can find a solution that gives me the same calm as having the seat in the low position but keeping the seat in the high position.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want it to be eerily quiet and lose the sensation of being on a bike, but as it is at the mo I find it pretty fatiguing. By the look of the new 1250 BMW are addressing the screen problem so a 1250 could be my solution :blast;)

Got one on my 2008 1200, very good no buffeting at all, C3's are brilliant helmets unfortunatly wrote mine off after three months!.
