Apologies for starting another thread, however, the search threw up 5245562124613 related threads and before I splash out on a new battery or take other drastic measures I wanted to confirm a couple of things. So I've got a Nomad Biker bat/alt monitor monitor fitted and the little LED is worrying me slightly as I'll be camping in a remote area in the near future. Here's what he said...

very fast blink red= below 10 volts, def not good, batt well flat or not charging when engine running
med fast blinky red= 10-11 volts ,not good, batt well flat, or not charging when engine running
solid red=battery voltage below 12 volts, not good, batt flat or very poorly charging when engine running.
amber= ready to go, above 12 and below 12.8, expected standby voltage, or only charging poorly when engine running.may also indicate too many accessories on when running.
green then off = good to go.above 12.8 and below 14.6,charging well, all's well.
blinky green= above 14.6 ,over charging, again not good, but will get you home.seek a professional for assistance.

Here's what I experienced this morning...medium red then solid red light with key turned but not started...pressed starter button chugged slowly but started in about a second or two...red changed to green.

Worrying bits....while at lights with brakes applied solid red came on. I have micro DEs always on, when the FF50s are also on light changeds to solid red...when I gave it some gas solid red went to green on both occasions. Engine off for about 1/2 hour, started better than in morning, but not immediatly like it normally does when warm.

Are these symptoms pointing to a new battery or could it be charging poorly?

Fankoo :aidan

The time when you need your monitor to give you warning of something amiss leads you to two conclusions ie. problem with battery or charging....no shit Sherlock:D

Your 'symptoms' suggest the battery's on it's way out:thumb
