Another CENTRAL LONDON dinning experience - The Sun & Thirteen Cantons - 16 July

As the past couple of dinning experiences for the London GSers have been in the EAST side of town .. I thought maybe we should have something in the West End. IN FACT WALKING DISTANCE FROM MY OFFICE


Evening get together in Chinatown!

Sometime in July?

I will have a look round and see what restaurant is good in the area and make a firm suggestion.

There are loads of pubs in the area and parking should be ok after 6:30pm on single yellow lines.

So what do I need from the 3 of you that usually turns up
1. Date you are around in July. I suppose it will be another Thursday as that seems to be best.
2. Pub suggestion round the China Town / SoHo area

There is only one Chinese in London and that is the palace that is Wong Kei.

Anywhere else has a things like service, politeness, decor, price and payment methods on a completely other level.

x2 on the Wong-Kei. I visit whenever I am in central london. The downside is the politeness has improved since they redecorated a few years back.

Wherever it is I don't care how good a pub/restaurant it is so long as it is easy walking of a mainline station going South and some clear direction on what we're doing (drinking & eating or drinking only) and who's doing it.

As nice a pub as the Ramsgate was Wapping is in the elbow of nowhere near anywhere and those of us who were eating didn't get any scoff on until about 10.30 and then it required a £10 cab to get to London Bridge for the (almost) last train.

And then I'm sure I won't be able to make it

Both the Glasshouse Stores and the Duke of Argyll on Brewer Street are excellent pubs, easily staggering distance of Chinatown. May even join you for this

I could do this one seeing as it's not so far out east in the badlands.

Waxy O connors pub in rupert street totty glore, loads of bars in one pub and the only pub with a tree in the middle. Every pub should have one
