Another great article writen by Nick V

In response to more requests for information, I've just created version 1.2 of the doc, and mailed it to Paul.

V1.2 includes sections on:
- Enabling and disabling the ASC and ABS (in tandem, or independently of one another).
- Enabling and disabling the cruise control.

As usual, if in doubt, check the version number. ;)

Hi again all,

V1.3 of the document should be uploaded shortly.

Paul G. discovered a fourth way of turning off the cruise control: applying pressure to the clutch lever. (Those who've been paying close attention to the lever action know that when pulled in, the lever makes two switch 'clicks': one when the lever is pulled in about a centimetre or so, the other when it's pulled all the way in. The cruise control will de-activate on the first click.)

Nice concise article Nick, thanks. That's my reading sorted for this evening in the "Throne" room :)

What a great article.

Makes interesting reading even if you don't drive a toilet :thumb

Do you write such things professionally Nick?

Yup... I'm a technical writer. :)
I specialize in aerospace and defence, though I've also done work in intelligent traffic systems, agriculture and IT as well. Currently doing work in electronic warfare systems.

My pleasure! :) I'm glad it's proving useful.

I was a bit confused as to why some of the functions should be so unintuitive on the new bike, but there are only so many hand controls you can put on a bike's handlebars before it starts to look like the cockpit of a Eurofighter Typhoon...
