Wasn't going to mention it, but as you've started the p1ss taking, how do you find the bike on the drag strip? Only going on the width of the chicken strips

tyres are new, just put the bike back together, better take it around a few quiet roundabouts.

just got new TB fitted last week, which made a massive difference to my
K12R - Feels like a new bike....pity it doesnt look like one.

Saw a Yellow one at MFN a bit back.All Plastics replaced with Carbon Fibre and CF Wheels too . It did look nice though.

I raced against one at Ramsey Sprint a few years back.It had so much grunt off the line,i could not get near it over the eighth mile. Reckon i'd have done it over a Quarter mile though.
Found out at the NEC last year that the Rider was a BMW UK Employee. Chatted with him and he agreed about the Eighth/Quarter mile prospects.

Anyone know if you can get panniers for the K1200R? I'm interested in a change from the GS, but I go away the odd weekend so panniers are fairly important. I hate those throw over canvas jobbies! And yes, I know they'll look stupid on the K, but it's just for the odd weekend!

you can fit BMW sport panniers, but they are not huge.

Been thinking along the same lines myself, a blinged up K1200R instead of the GS\GSA. I could easily make the Varios fit but the exhaust is on the wrong side. The K engine is the job (I have the GT)

I didn't realise just how fast it was accelerating until I looked in the mirrors and saw the cars disappearing rapidly in the distance - and I don't ride as fast as most of you.

Would you buy a 1200 or wait for the new 1300?

I'd get this one on ebay.

It's fully fettled with Laser exhaust,tasteful carbon bits and full luggage.


Would set you back about £12k new but the owner is looking for £6k ish.

Cheers for the info lads. That one on e-bay looks good. I'm in Ireland but the ones in the UK are about half the price! If only that one was black and not yellow!
