Nice. My full Akro system is still in the box. When my MM has had its 1st service I'll fit it.

I'm wondering whether the K&N filter is doing anything here? The pipe alone should give more than 2HP, no?

Also Dee Tee how has the Akro affected the MM's vibe patch when not under load at around 3-4K?

I don't know what effect the K&N will have but it won't be any worse than the Stock item
I think that the big gain over Std (up to 5 BHP) is 4>5k RPM and 6>7500 RPM

Can't say i noticed any vibe patch. Next time i'm out on it i will check and report back.

Thats well nice.I'm green!:drool

Ta ! I'm Green,too (when i'm not out on the MM :D )

Darned good Question and i'm glad you asked.I went out Today and did around 95 Miles of mixed A Roads and Rural B Roads

TBH,i'm a bit confused. I have never looked at the MM having a "Vibe Patch" as such. It vibes if you are pulling too low a gear, but then most bikes will. There is a Buzz felt through the pegs and a noticeable Rumble but i would not pin this down to any partitcular Rev Range. Maybe i don't have the Observation of a Test Rider,or it could be that i'm enjoying the bike so much that if there IS a Vibe Patch, then i'm riding through it or just not feeling it as an issue. :nenau

Other than that, the only thing of note is that the Akrapovic Pipe and K&N Filter HAVE made a real difference to the Performance.Without the excitement of the "First Ride" influencing my feelings,i have to say that the Motor really pulls harder than before, spins up quicker and is a lot more responsive.

I know this may seem an odd question, but is there any way to remove the brightly colored sticker off the can?

Now I've done it!

Yet another candidate for the "tart's handbag" treatment is joining the stable - I pick up my MM next Wednesday, just in time for two days @ Cadwell.

I'll post next week; hopefully still shiny side up, as to how it & I get on @ my 2nd favourite track.

All the best, Jim.

(I realised that I'd be waiting rather a long time for you to consider selling yours Dave! - see you @ the Manx?))

Monday, 31st August

Dave -- Arriving @ 17:45 on the Monday of Race week, an ex-colleague's wedding prevents an earlier arrival.

If the weather's fine shall we convene @ the usual venue @ 06:30 on Tues. the 1st?

I've managed to have the Tuono's suspension sorted, new tyres and a full service since the TT, so I may be a bit more comfortable than when last I took it around the mountain. (according to Paul Dedman, whoever had "played" with the settings was even less mechanically competent than I am!)

See you there.

All the best, Jim.

ps. - where will you be Marshaling this time?

pps. - will Paul be joining us?

So which one of you guys is going to be first with the HP2 Sport engine transplant...?

Come on, don't be shy........:augie

HP2 Sport transplant is useless if the MM owner isn't able to use the original
engine at 100%...

More than considering hp, I now consider a real need to perfect the way
in which I drive the bike.

Real secret of performance stays in the pilot, not in the engine... :rob

Yes but I was thinking of rider's who just might be better than you......:augie

Jim,i'll be on the KTM 950,Tuesday AM sounds good.
Marshalling Sector 4 maybe Black Dub or somewhere round the Glen.
Dunno 'bout Paul.

you are right !! :D:D

When I saw the 'Doctor' going from Honda to Yamaha and getting the first
place, I undertood that the difference is made by the human, not by the bike...

Since that, I try to upgrage GSMarc before upgrading my MM engine ! :D:D:D

How much louder is the pipe without the baffle, pleasantly loud or obnoxiously loud?

Not sure which exhaust you are talking about. The stock exhaust with the baffles out is pleasantly loud. The full AKRA Ti system with the the baffle out IMO is too loud and the bikes vibes increase substantially. With the baffle in the Akra Ti sound awesome, much better than the stocker.

Yes, I ordered the Akra Ti, so I'll start with the baffle in, but that dip in the torque curve with it in isn't pretty - could you feel the difference when riding it?
